In 2025, the Dojo team was disbanded as Tesla shifted its focus to developing in-car chips AI5 and AI6. Now that AI5 development has been completed, the company is returning to the Dojo project.

The AI chips in question are designed to run directly inside vehicles but are not optimized for training large-scale models. Production of AI6 will be handled by Samsung in Texas under a $16 billion contract.
